Nicolas Paumier is a self-taught professional photographer with 25 years of experience. Born in France, he practices his craft in both Switzerland and France, particularly in Annecy. His artistic approach is rooted in humanist photography, with a strong affinity for the "low-key" style. He honed his skills at the Nicéphore Institute near Lausanne, under the guidance of Laurent Kobi. His work is defined by a constant quest for authenticity and emotion, whether through portraiture, street photography, documentary, or landscape. His exhibition in 2024 november, featuring a series of 45 portraits of Lugano merchants, showcases his ability to capture the essence of his subjects with authenticity and emotion. The staging of the exhibition was a collaborative effort, with visuals prepared in advance using Illustrator to optimize the space at the historic Asilo Ciani building in Lugano, a perfect venue for intimate exhibitions.
