My practice lives where design meets the wild, unplanned drama of the Scottish landscape. I am instinctively attracted to the graphic shapes nature creates, whether it is the fleeting architecture left by a retreating tide or the imposing form of a storm cloud over the North Sea coastline. I favour bold compositions and deliberate scale, crafting visual "portals" that offer a moment of clarity for those carrying the burdens of modern life. My perspective is informed by a multicultural heritage. Growing up in Argentina with Croatian roots and having lived, worked and travelled to dozens of countries instilled in me a subconscious map of vast lands and harsh coastlines. This global background allows me to view the Scottish landscape through a unique lens: I am searching for both a cinematic scale that resonates with the expansive horizons of my past and intimate scenes that convey an exploration of detail and vulnerability. The catalyst for my work was a personal necessity for healing. Following a period of health challenges and digital exhaustion in 2020, I turned to the outdoors to ground myself. My photography became a tool for decompression and a way to translate the healing power of the wild into a tangible, graphic form. Whether capturing the kinetic energy of a seascape or transforming a focused woodland setting into an artful refuge, my intent is to provide the viewer with "room to breathe." Through my lens, every image becomes an invitation to pause. As a Council member at the Edinburgh Photographic Society, I strive to create work that marries technical mastery with emotional depth. My goal is to turn every wall into a window, every scene into a sanctuary, offering a breath of calm that soothes the mind and sweeps away the noise of daily life.
