Ivelina Stoyanova is a Bulgarian photographer whose practice moves between documentary, research-based and conceptual approaches. Her projects develop through long-term observation, fieldwork and encounters with people, places and cultural practices.
Her current research focuses on the photographic documentation of performance and ephemeral practices, with particular attention to the body, ritual, memory and the traces left by events that cannot be fully preserved. Her fieldwork at the 2025 Mahā Kumbh Mela in India forms part of this ongoing research.
Her practice also extends into installation, exploring visual perception, the instability of the image and the relationship between what is seen, experienced and represented. Her work has been presented in exhibitions and photography projects in Bulgaria and internationally.
