Annelie Vandendael is a Belgium Freelance Photographer who studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent, Belgium.
In contrast to the current trend of unnatural perfection found in heavily manipulated and photoshopped images, Annelie wants to represent real people, with their very own personality, beauty and imperfection.
As a reaction against examples of fashion photography in which the personality of the individual is irrelevant, her aim is to depict the human being as a natural part of the respective surroundings and let the authenticity of the body speak for itself.
“Generally I use a hasselblad analog camera, I like to work with it as the pictures it produces appear more realistic. A manipulated body gives us a wrong perception of reality anyway.”
