    Judge: Kai Hornung

Kai Hornung is a German-based photographer, whose extraordinary landscape images showcase the immense beauty of the natural world. He has won a number of international awards, including, Photograph of the Year at the 2020 International Landscape Photographer of the Year Awards, whilst two of his images were also shortlisted for the Sony World Photo, Landscape Award in 2020. His work has been frequently published in magazines such as National GeographicGEOElements, and Condé Nast.

His approach is underpinned by a desire to make images that “sing”, be it grand and dramatic, or small, abstract moments in which he quiets the chaos that surrounds us. Furthermore, in addition to his photography, he is a writer and teacher, who regularly pens essays on landscape photography, and leads photography workshops.
