French photographer born in 1982, Fabien Olart discovered photography as a teenager through the photos of Lee Miller, Dorothea Lange and Sebastião Salgado. After studying communications and image, he became a collaborator with the hemis.fr agency, specializing in tourism and travel. Regularly published in the press (Le Monde, Détours en France, Maxi, Marianne…) as well as in publishing (Gallimard, Hachette, Michelin Edition…), his productions are above all produced in Europe. Member of the Street Photography France collective, it is in black and white that his sensitivity is most expressed. Attracted by urban life, his work is characterized by spontaneous, highly contrasted photography, playing between light and shadow. The human, often solitary, remains an important element of its production, while being integrated into urban or natural landscapes.
