Frédéric Demeuse is a photographer driven by an inordinate attraction to the world of trees and forest ecosystems with which he feels a deep connection. His photographic approach is concerned with conveying the deep, universal beauty he feels and lives in connection with the natural world in all its infinite richness and complexity. With a passion for art, adventure and exploration, Frédéric Demeuse who trained as a naturalist and ornithologist, is driven by a boundless passion for the outdoors, from landscapes, wildlife to secular forests. Frédéric took up photography at an early age and has developed since a strong commitment to natural sciences. Frédéric specializes in transcribing the vital energy, beauty and poetry of our world, from the most subtle details to the most remote and still primary forests, through visual idealism with both revitalizing and resourcing stylization purpose. Responding to a rigorous, singular and timeless photographic vocabulary when using black and white, the raison d'être of his artistic approach is to transform his visions and quests in the outdoors into a unique art product. Through his work and images inspired by living dreams and pure curiosity, Frédéric explores the relationship between humans and the living community, the scale of time, the history of evolution, and what exists beyond the human condition. He uses photography as a raw material, a permanent work of observation and research on light, texture, and composition. His work is meant to be a reminder of the importance of our relationship with the biosphere, and the hope that mankind will never forget that it is the most valuable element of our existence and of our shared destiny. As an avid naturalist he likes to spend as much time as possible outdoors. This principle of immersion in the natural world is the key ingredient to convey the magic of nature, absorbing its many moods and revealing its secret wonders. From his explorations in immersion in the most varied and remote environments, he brings us back images whose purpose is to question us on what you are about to lose and to stir up our curiosity about what exists beyond our human condition. Author of several books, his work has won awards in the most prestigious international competitions including a first prize at the BBC Wildlife Photographer of the year. His work is regularly exhibited and featured internationally in press and magazines.
