I am a freelance photojournalist based in Vancouver, Canada. My passion for nature and the visual arts led me to a photography career while I still lived in Rio de Janeiro. In Rio, I grew up drawing all the time—at home, at school, and anywhere I could find a piece of paper. I used to create my own comic strips, developing short visual stories within the frame format.  After a decade of drawing, the frame format was already incorporated into my visual storytelling, so my transition to photography was smooth. Photography allowed me to explore the outdoors and visit places away from home. Photojournalism arrived later in my life, adding a sense of purpose to my work.
