Sévérine Kpoti is a photographer and a committed cultural activist. Her focus is always on people and their authenticity. One central aspect of her work is the documentation of social and societal structures and subcultures she encounters. By expressing intimacy and belonging, but at the same time questioning their norms and guidelines, she sees the opportunity to reflect the society in which she lives. Her own intersectionality motivates her to place work and art in a political context.
