Biography

Francesco Merlini was born in Aosta in 1986. After a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design at the Politecnico University of Milan, he has devoted himself completely to photography.

After covering Italian news for various publications such as Internazionale, Gioia, Rolling Stone, D La Repubblica and Le Monde, Francesco works now mainly on personal long-term projects, corporate-works and editorials.

In 2012, Francesco was published on MONO vol. one alongside renowned photographers such as Roger Ballen, Daido Moryiama, Anders Petersen and Antoine D’agata.

Among many reviews and publications, Francesco has been featured on TIME Lightbox among the new best black&white photographers.

Represented by the international photographic agency Prospekt, Francesco lives and works in Milan.
