    Judge: Jimmy Nelson

Jimmy Nelson is an award-winning British-born photographer who has spent the last decade traveling the world and photographing some of the most endangered indigenous cultures still in existence. Throughout his journey, Nelson has faced a myriad of challenges, from Kalashnikov-toting Banna tribesmen to subzero reindeer attacks, and thousands of miles of rough terrain. However, he always approaches his work with a blend of humility and humor and an unwavering commitment and respect for the cultures that he documents.

Over the years Nelson has published several books including, Before They Pass Away, a stunning portrait of 35 indigenous tribes recorded using an antique plate camera. He has exhibited his work worldwide, won numerous awards, and in 2016, he launched the Jimmy Nelson Foundation, with the aim of fostering an appreciation for cultural diversity and connecting people from all over the world to celebrate polychromatic cultural identity.
