“My two favorite subjects are dancers and landscapes, so I’ve been experimenting with combining the two. I always try to capture movement in unique ways. In this series, I utilized long exposure to allow the water and dancer to become one subject. The dancer becomes an extension of the water, or the water an extension of the dancer. Everything was caught in-camera on the shore of Lake Pontchartrain, in Louisiana. I used a platform just below the surface, allowing the dancer to appear like she is standing on the water. The lake usually has a very weak tide, but it’s just enough to create movement without overpowering the dancer." © Dusty Cooper

“Citizens of despair” - Myanmar
More than years after his expulsion from Myanmar, thousands of unregistered Rohingya refugees living in makeshift camp Kutupalong, Bangladesh, have been forcibly displaced from their homes, in an act of intimidation and abuse by local authorities. Some international organizations have been treating many people for injuries where the majority were women and children victims of rejection and disdain and the situation seems to be moving to nowhere. The Rohingya are a small Muslim ethnic group that has for years been fleeing the northern Rakhine state of Myanmar which were subject to cruel Abandonment, violence, and exploitation. © Javier Arcenillas
