Extraterrestrial on earth A photography project by Inge Van Heerde

Everyday situations creating unpredictable and ominous atmospheres.

“In my work I strive to create images where you see and feel everyday occurrences with ominous, almost uncomfortable and dreamlike atmospheres.

All my work is about a simple question: ‘who decides what’s normal and what’s not?’

Way too often people like to tag and label others and situations for being unconventional and perhaps a little silly with a negative stamp.

These unconventional and silly ideas however, bring a tremendous amount of freedom, wisdom, self awareness and peace. I think it’s a shame that so many people focus on how one should think and act. The power of their own imagination is not being freed – what a pity!”
