“When the angels sound their trumpets” - Bolivia
This photograph was created during my photography expedition to Bolivia in 2024, at the Uyuni Salt Flats - a vast desert covered with a thin layer of water. My working approach, which I call Art Expedition, is simple: I arrive at a new place with no fixed plan. I absorb its atmosphere, observe its rhythm, meet local people, and let the concept emerge naturally from what I experience there. In each location, I create a collection of photographs and videos based on this process. In Bolivia, I was struck by the carnival - its colors, faces, and gestures. Among the crowd, I noticed a group of trumpet players with huge white instruments. I invited them to the salt flats near the village, where the landscape gave their presence an otherworldly and surreal feeling. © Julia Buruleva

“Bajao boys in mangrove forest” - Southeast Asia
Three joyful children of the Bajao tribe are playing in a mangrove forest by the sea. With water up to their knees and roots rising around them, they smile and pose freely, wearing simple goggles that hint at their adventurous spirit. The dense green trees behind them blend into the bright blue sky and the calm sea, creating a peaceful and lively scene. The boys seem at home in nature, enjoying the water and the moment without any distractions. Their laughter, curiosity, and connection to their environment shine through the photo. It’s a pure and heartwarming glimpse into childhood — wild, free, and deeply connected to the natural world. © Sanghamitra Sarkar
