Yemen, largely off limits now, is one of the most amazing countries I’ve ever been to. Old Sanaa, hill top defensive villages built of stone and the Island of Socotra are just some of the attractions. The people are warm and friendly and in many ways you feel that you are stepping back in time. Old Sanaa has stunning and unique architecture and beautiful bazaars. Artisanal blacksmiths making tools and street food everywhere.
