American Escape echo $NewDate; ?> A photography project by David Fitt
“I wanted to make pictures that felt natural, that felt like seeing, that didn’t feel like taking something in the world and making a piece of art out of it.” – Stephen Shore
7 years ago I took a trip to the American West – At the time I had just discovered the work of color photography master and pioneer Stephen Shore and books such as Uncommon Places and American Surfaces forever changed my perception of photography.
It truly inspired me, and back then, it felt very natural to follow the footsteps of the iconic American photographer while roaming the American west – To pay tribute to the artist that opened my eyes to color photography. – David Fitt
– David’s work has been praised for featuring strong storytelling with an urban twist. His photographs are vibrant as well as emotionally-charged, and pay cinematographic homage to light masters Edward Hopper and Joaquin Baca-Asay. – Discover more here
