People Award Editors' Picks

Following the results of last month’s People competition judged by the co-founder of The Everyday Projects and Everyday Africa: Peter DiCampo, we want to share some of the competition entries that didn’t make it to the final selection but impressed by their overall quality and stayed with us.

A group of dancers on the streets of Peru, a family dipping in the Holy river Ganges, young Buddhists playing at the temples of Angkor, and more: We received an incredible variety of images and we want to highlight the work of 15 talented photographers and storytellers who joined in the People photo competition.

Thank you for taking part in the award and taking the time to share your work with us!

"In a portrait, I’m looking for the silence in somebody."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson

Portrait photography has one of the oldest and most interesting histories that harkens back to the early days of the medium. Through portraits of iconic figures or ordinary people, we discover a deep interest in others.

Recent works or gems from your archives, classic or experimental, and through any kind of storytelling: we want to discover the most powerful and captivating images of today’s portrait photography. We are open to all interpretations and want to see faces that gaze right into the soul!
