    “Lost” - 2024
Lost” is a one-shot story about growing up and how hard it is to be a teenager. Adolescence is a time when a person begins to realize themselves as an individual, searches for their place in the world and faces new challenges. There is no clarity and understanding of the right path. My photo is a kind of metaphor for growing up. It is about confusion about the future and being lost in the face of the coming unknown. These two boys were inseparable during my time at my father’s school. And they wanted to be photographed together. © Vikram Kushwah

    “108 beads” - Karsha, Ladakh, India 2024
108 are the beads of the Buddhist Mala, a number considered sacred. Each of the 108 beads represents a human passion that prevents people from attaining enlightenment. I met this woman, whose name was Kunjom, walking under the strong sun in Karsha village. Seeing me thirsty, she warmly welcomed me into her home and offered me a cup of tea. It was an interesting exchange of gestures and non-verbal communication, and somehow we managed to understand each other. When she realised I wanted to take a shot at her, she stood in front of the window of her small, dark house, took out her Mala and began to pray, keeping count of the mantras she was reciting. © Sara Bardotti
