Landscape Award November 2022
Theme: Landscape Photography / Competition Judge: Hannes Becker
Landscape photography is one of the oldest forms of photography. When taking a picture of a landscape, just like in a portrait or a scene, photographers attempt to tell a story and we wanted to discover and celebrate all the beauty and joy that nature can provide.
Make sure to sign up for the newsletter and join us over on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter where we’ll be sharing all our favorite images from the competition. Congratulations to all the talented photographers who made it to the final!

Jury's Feedback
1ST PRIZE: Nick Hodgson
“The combination between a quite common landscape and unique weather phenomena creates a wonderful scene and a special photograph. Something I personally try to achieve as well. Not only is the composition flawless, but the soft and subtle edit and the pastel color palette also enhance the overall flow. Yet the sharp edges of the dunes create the perfect contrast to the mist, resulting in a captivating image.” — Hannes Becker
2ND PRIZE: Alessandro Zanoni
“One image that stood out immediately for me was “Suspended in Time“. Amongst amazing landscapes, with popping colors, this particular photograph managed to grasp my attention every time I was looking at it. The contrast between this great composition with its minimalistic traits and the busy patterns of the main object is well balanced. The image raised more questions than answers and it’s intriguing to think about it.” — Hannes Becker
3RD PRIZE: Seo In Cho
“Truly remarkable, Seo In Cho’s captivating image depicts the Guiyang Qianchun overpass, one of the most complex intersections in all of China. Illuminated brightly against its rugged surroundings – rendered dark blue by the crepuscule light – the intricate network of roads forms a brilliant mosaic of fiery painting-like colors and tactile textures. It is a truly absorbing image that embodies the often uneasy juxtaposition between hyper-modernity and tradition; between the man-made and natural, whilst challenging the popular misconception that great landscape images must depict the pristine..” – The Independent Photographer Editors
Judge: Hannes Becker
Hannes Becker is a German-based photographer who captures extraordinary landscape images that eloquently impart the magnificent beauty of the natural world.

He quickly garnered recognition for his striking images, and today is one of the world’s most-followed travel photographers.
