Landscape Award November 2025
Theme: Landscape PhotographyCompetition Judge: Jim Richardson
Landscape photography is one of the oldest forms of photography. When taking a picture of a landscape, as in a portrait or a scene, photographers aim to tell a story, and we wanted to discover and celebrate all the beauty and joy nature can offer.
Make sure to sign up for the newsletter and join us over on Facebook, Instagram, and X where we’ll be sharing all our favorite images from the competition. Congratulations to all the talented photographers who made it to the final!

Jury's Feedback
1ST PRIZE: Isabella Tabacchi
“What an appropriate title for this stunning image from Kazakhstan. Something like it sprung to mind the instant I first saw it. The lone crag in the middle of a salt lake, by itself, is evocative, and the photographic interpretation reinforces it: the deep blue of a night scene, a few stars sparkling in the sky, primordial shapes in the foreground. The photographer triumphed by leaving the crag off in the distance, aloof and solitary. And here is a photographic destination, the Karynzharyq Depression, much less traveled than so many more familiar landscapes. It reminds us that the world still has vast riches to be discovered. ” — Jim Richardson
2ND PRIZE: Ken Cavanagh
“Swirling and alive, this glacial lagoon (a landscape of water and ice) represents the dynamic heart of Iceland but brings us a fresh view that is neither volcanic nor alluvial. It expands how we think about this ephemeral land, always changing and shape-shifting into something new. This image adds to the story of Iceland in a way I did not expect. As such, it deserves respect as well as honor. ” — Jim Richardson
3RD PRIZE: Midey Aurélien
“A beautiful, ethereal landscape that captures the fleeting intimacy between earth and sky. The rocky outcrop in the foreground leads the eye gracefully into the dense, mist-shrouded forest, while the sun breaking through the fog bathes the scene in a soft, warm glow. Depth and scale are masterfully conveyed. The tactile textures of rock and moss contrast perfectly with the weightless clouds, giving the viewer the sensation that the is almost within reach. Composition, light, and timing converge seamlessly, creating a moment of quiet awe that lingers long after the first glance.” – The Independent Photographer Editors
